Founder, Bill Peterson opened Wisconsin Cutlery & Kitchen Supply in December of 2007. His background included a decade of work as a professional meat cutter and nearly 30 years sharpening, repairing and selling knives and other cookware before he opened his Madison store.

Current owner, Michelle Dietz is an avid, adventurous cooking enthusiast, and self-admitted cooking class junkie who has studied both around town and around the world. She has a 20-year background in sales, marketing, and tradeshow management, and was an early, loyal customer of the store. Michelle joined the staff in 2011, and has been sharpening knives and enjoying outfitting Madison cooks’ kitchens ever since. In April of 2016, Michelle purchased the store from Bill so that he could retire, and she could continue to do the job she loves.
